British UFO investigator found dead after ‘vomiting black liquid,’ sending chilling text message to mother

Max Spiers  (Facebook)

A conspiracy theorist has been found dead in Polandjust days after he texted his mum instructing her to investigate should anything happen to him.

Max Spiers, a 39-year-old father of two, was found dead on a sofa in Poland, where he had gone to give a talk about conspiracy theories and UFOs. He was ruled to have died from natural causes despite no post-mortem examination being carried out on his body.

But his dark investigations into UFOs and government cover-ups may have made him enemies who wanted him dead, says mother Vanessa Bates, 63. In a chilling text message to his mum just days before his death, Max wrote: Your boys in trouble. If anything happens to me, investigate.

Originally from Canterbury, Max was a former classmate of Orlando Bloom. He lived in the United States for a few years, but had returned to the city to stay with his mother, before jetting off to Poland.Vanessa said: He was making a name for himself in the world of conspiracy theorists, and had been invited to speak at a conference in Poland in July.

Could dark streaks in Venus’ clouds be signs of alien life?

An artist’s impression of the uncrewed Venus Atmospheric Maneuverable Platform (VAMP) flying through Venus’ clouds.  (Northrop Grumman)

The question of life on Venus , of all places, is intriguing enough that a team of U.S. and Russian scientists working on a proposal for a new mission to the second planet named Venera-D are considering including the search for life in its mission goals.

If all goes as planned, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) could one day be cruising the thick, sulfuric-acid clouds of Venus to help determine whether dark streaks that appear to absorb ultraviolet radiation could be evidence of microbial life.

Venus has long been a focus of Russian planetary science, which has the proud legacy of the record-breaking Venera space probes that landed on the Venusian surface in the late 1970s and early 1980s. [Mysterious Venus: 10 Weird Facts]

With many questions remaining unanswered, the joint mission of Roscosmos and NASA, if approved, would see an orbiter launch toward Venus in 2025 with the aim to make remote-sensing observations of the planet and its atmosphere; deploy a lander on the surface; and search for future landing sites.

Among several possible additions to the mission are a small sub-orbiter to study Venus’ magnetosphere, and either a balloon or an UAV taking measurements of the atmosphere over a long duration.

Should the UAV be approved, its main goal would be to take meteorological measurements to determine why the atmosphere rotates so fast relative to the surface, a phenomenon known as super-rotation . This fast rotation was discovered in the 1960s by astronomers tracking the motion of the dark streaks in the atmosphere. Puzzlingly, astronomers do not know the origin and composition of these dark streaks, nor do they understand why the streaks haven’t mixed with the rest of the atmosphere and why they are absorbing ultraviolet light.

“These are questions that haven’t been fully explored yet, and I’m shouting as loud as I can, saying that we need to explore them,” said Sanjay Limaye, an atmospheric scientist from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and a former chair of NASA’s Venus Exploration Analysis Group (VEXAG).

According to Limaye, the nature of the UV absorber is completely unknown. It could be particulate matter mixed into the clouds, or a substance that has been dissolved by the droplets of sulfuric acid, or it may be crystalline in nature, like ice. Iron chloride has been proposed, but there is no confirmed mechanism that could loft particles of iron chloride 31 to 37 miles (50 to 60 kilometers) above the surface, particularly as winds near the surface only blow weakly through the dense lower atmosphere.

Life in the clouds?

A more exciting explanation for the dark streaks is that they are evidence of microbial life . “It’s a possibility we can’t overlook,” said Limaye, who is a member of the Venera-D science definition team.

Finding life at high altitude in the atmosphere of a planet would make sense. After all, microbes have been found at similar heights in Earth’s atmosphere. The challenge for life on Venus is the planet’s extreme temperature. The surface, at 864 degrees Fahrenheit, is hot enough to melt lead, and the surface pressure of 92 bar is the equivalent of being almost 0.6 miles under water.

However, in a region beginning around 31 miles in altitude and extending 7.5 miles outward is a sweet spot where the temperature ranges between 86 degrees F and 158 degrees F, and the pressure is similar to that on Earth’s surface. Life could potentially survive in this zone where the dark-streaking UV absorber is found.

Intriguingly, the sulfuric acid droplets within the clouds aren’t necessarily a show-stopper to life. Earlier Venera missions detected elongated particles in the lower cloud layer that are about 1 micron long, about the width of a small bacterium. These particles could be coated in ring-shaped polymers of eight sulfur atoms, called S8 molecules, which are known to exist in Venus’ clouds and which are impervious to the corrosive effects of sulfuric acid, researchers said. [5 Bold Claims of Alien Life]

Furthermore, S8 absorbs ultraviolet light, re-radiating it in visible wavelengths. If the particles are microbes, they could have coated themselves in S8, making them resistant to the corrosive effects of sulfuric acid. It has even been postulated that the S8 exists as a result of microbial activity. Is this then the key to life on Venus?

“I cannot say that there is microbial life in Venus’ clouds ,” Limaye said. “But that doesn’t mean it’s not there, either. The only way to learn is to go there and sample the atmosphere.”

Powered flight

The original Russian plan for Venera-D featured balloons patrolling the atmosphere, but balloons are not very maneuverable and would not necessarily be able to reach the regions with the dark streaks. A solar-powered UAV would stand a far better chance, according to Limaye.

“The idea is that, with a large enough wingspan, you can generate enough power and actually fly through the atmosphere of Venus, with electric propellers, for a very long time,” Limaye said.

Descending hypersonically into the atmosphere after detaching from the orbiter, the UAV would be filled with hydrogen or helium gas, keeping it buoyant at a nominal floating altitude of 31 miles, allowing it to glide through the clouds while moving through the night-time hemisphere. Upon daylight, the solar-powered propellers would kick in and raise the craft’s altitude to around 37 miles.

Over the course of three to four days, the craft could move around the planet along the upper atmosphere’s “super-rotation,” the strange phenomenon where the atmosphere seems to be uncoupled from the solid planet and rotates much faster. The UAV would therefore be able to explore the clouds at different altitudes, moving from air mass to air mass, from regions with UV absorbers to regions devoid of them, sampling and measuring the composition of the atmosphere.

The aerospace company Northrop Grumman has already independently developed a concept for a Venusian UAV, called VAMP (Venus Atmospheric Maneuverable Platform), which would have a giant 180-foot wingspan and be designed to operate in the atmosphere for at least a year.

The D’ in Venera-D’s name stands for “dolgozhivushaya,” which in Russian means “long-lived.” This originally referred to the hopes of keeping a lander operational on the Venusian surface for days or weeks, although the oppressive conditions on the surface mean that realistically the most that any lander could survive is mere hours. Instead, the UAV, continually circling around Venus, would take the mantle of being long-lived.

The final report describing the science goals of the Venera-D mission will be submitted to Roscosmos and NASA by the end of January 2017, at which point the two space agencies will have to decide whether they will collaborate on the mission. An answer is not expected until late 2017 at the earliest.

Bizarre ‘Fireball’ UFO Was Just An Airplane… Probably

What looks like some kind of strange fireball almost hanging in the sky is grabbing the attention of many on social media.

Lee-Anne Peters captured footage of the object over Hobart, on the Australian island of Tasmania on Tuesday.

I set my alarm to wake up early because it was my daughters 16th birthday, she told BuzzFeed. My kitchen window has a great view of the eastern sky Looking out the window while cooking I saw the object.

But experts believe its not a fireball, and not, as some on social media claim, an alien spaceship.

Its just an ordinary airplane.

The length of time that the object was visible for and its apparent speed both support this hypothesis,Chris Arkle, an Astronomer at Tasmanias Launceston Planetarium, told Australias ABC.

He said a meteor or space junk burning up in the atmosphere would move faster.

ABC said users on social media even matched it to an Emirates Airbus A380 flight bound for Auckland that was over the airspace at the same time Peters shot her footage.

David Finlay of Australian Meteor Reports agreed, calling ita beautiful video of an A380 contrail.

It is not uncommon for people to mistake jet contrails for meteors, especially in the afternoon and in the western sky as the sun sets, he told The Mercury.Ive watched some people looking at contrails who even thought they were seeing a comet.

Peters seemed satisfied with the explanation. After initially posted that she had seen a fireball meteorite, she wrote on Facebook that it was aa spectacular plane colored by the rising sun.

Mystery, solved.

Widow of man allegedly murdered by illegal alien blames ICE

A Missouri widow told U.S. senators Wednesday that Immigration and Customs Enforcement failed her family after an illegal alien went on a killing spree, allegedly taking four lives, plus her husband.

The Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs heard the testimony of Julie Nordman, whose husband, Randy, was murdered in their New Florence, Missouri, home in early 2016. The panel also heard from law enforcement officials citing similar tragedies committed by individuals who had illegally entered the United States.

Nordman told the committee that had ICE authorities just done their jobs the victims would still be alive.

And most importantly to me, my husband would still be here. Instead, every day that Im at our house, Im reminded of this tragic event, Nordman said. I wish you could bring my husband back, but we all know that cant happen. What you can do, is make sure that this doesnt happen to another innocent family in the future.

The man who is charged, Pablo Antonio Serrano-Vitorino, is also charged with killing four others in Kansas City, just the day before killing Randy Nordman. Serrano-Vitorino had been deported in 2004 after fulfilling a two-year prison sentence, but managed to illegally re-enter the U.S. According to Nordmans testimony, Serrano-Vitorino invaded their home early on the morning of March 8, 2016, while her husband was getting ready for work. Nordman found her husband shot dead on the kitchen floor.

Ranking member Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., sent a letter inviting ICE Acting Director Thomas Homan to the hearing, but he declined.

ICE is the only agency capable of providing detailed answers and information about these cases, and its deeply concerning that theyve declined to send someone to speak with the victims family, law enforcement, and Republican and Democratic members of the Committee, McCaskill said. Their absence is creating a troubling pattern of Administration officials continually dodging oversight requests from this committeea pattern that cannot be allowed to continue.

Chairman Ron Johnson, R-Wis., sent a letter to ICE on Tuesday requesting documentation and information about criminal illegal aliens in an effort to determine whether or not the individuals held in connection to the crimes would make them a priority for removal under President Trump’s Jan. 25 Executive Order on enhancing public safety.

ICE did not respond to Fox News request for comment.

Nordman told the committee that she was never contacted by ICE or anyone from the government to express their remorse, although she read in media reports that ICE would monitor her husbands case.

I find their statement couldnt be any further from the truth, Nordman said. Not only has ICE failed us, but our borders have failed us.

In addition to Nordmans testimony, the panel heard from Chief Deputy Ryan Rectenwald of Grant County, Washington, who shared the story of Jill Marie Sunberg, the 31-year-old who was killed by five illegal aliens shortly before Christmas 2016.

The fact that these suspects were here illegally isnt my point, Rectenwald said. Its that the shooter was still in the U.S. after being convicted of crimes, and previously deported.

Rectenwald also shared instances of drug trade through the porous southwest border, sharing accounts of an increase in accessibility and affordability for drugs like, heroin, which Chairman Johnson described as an affordable, destructive habit. According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, 10,574 Americans died from heroin-related overdoses in 2014.

This is actually pretty simple — not a whole lot of complexity to what Im trying to accomplish here — just trying to lay out with some powerful stories about what happens when a nation does not secure its borders or enforce our immigration laws, Johnson said, citing President Trumps address to Congress Tuesday night. To me, the role of federal government the top priority, is the defense of this nation, the defense of this homeland, the security of its borders and the security of its citizens thats all this hearing is about.

Trump has directed the Department of Homeland Security to hire 10,000 ICE officers and agents, along with 5,000 border patrol agents.

Border security and immigration laws are not just a concern for our communities along the border they affect all Americans, Johnson said. We need to understand the consequences of not securing our borders and not enforcing our immigration laws.

UFO sightings hit all-time high, report says

UFOs are visiting at all-time highs, according to new statistics, which say that sightings are most common in the U.S.

The findings are based on data crunched by Sam Monfort, a doctoral student in Human Factors and Applied Cognition at George Mason University. Monfort wrote up his findings in a blog update that used information from the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC), an organization that documents UFO sightings.

According to Monfort’s report, UFOs have been increasingly popping in, with 104,947 reported sightings on record over the past 100-plus years.

UFOS AND INVISIBLE INK: CIA SHARES TROVE OF DECLASSIFIED FILES ONLINE

The first recorded flyby occurred in Portland in 1905, where viewers reported seeing a buzzing sphere-shaped UFO that descended from the heavens. But sightings have spiked dramatically over the past 30-plus years, with the reported number jumping from around 5,000 in 1980, to roughly 45,000 in 2010.

Other information from Monforts findings points to the UFO phenomenon being a fairly U.S.-based trend. The nation collectively reports 2,500 sightings per 10 million people, which is 300 times more than the global median. More sightings are reported in states in the West and Northwest, with some states in the Northeast not far behind.

ALIENS ARE EVERYWHERE, SAYS IVY LEAGUE PROFESSOR

Monfort thinks that America’s rate of internet connectivity may explain the large number of U.S. sightings. Why are Americans obsessed with UFOs? Maybe its related to Internet access, he wrote. You have to have Internet access to submit a report, after all.

Jellyfish That Looks Like UFO Spotted By Underwater Rover

Its a UFO an underwater fishy object.

A jellyfish that looks amazingly like a flying saucer was recently filmed by a team of marine biologists from the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

This UFO isnt really unidentified. Its scientific name is rhopalonematid trachymedusa, a type of deep-sea jellyfish. It was filmed last week by scientists aboard the Okeanos Explorer,a NOAA ocean research ship now exploring the National Marine Sanctuary of American Samoa.

Watching the jellyfish move around the deep ocean can be a hypnotic experience.

The researchers who filmed the bizarre creature said the jellyfish has two sets of tentacles, one set facing upward and the other downward. The reason for this is unknown.

The sanctuary covers 13,581 square miles of nearshore coral reef and offshore open ocean across the Samoan archipelago in the South Pacific. The mission continues through April.
